About this tool
Pinterest behaves more like a visual search engine than a social feed. The description field is indexed as text, which means a natural sentence containing your keywords often does more work than a row of hashtags. This generator gives you both: descriptive tags for the end of a pin description, built from the same topic words you should be using in the sentence itself.
How it works
Your topic is expanded into the exact phrase, its individual words and descriptive variations, then Pinterest-typical terms are appended. Everything is normalised into valid tag syntax. Because Pinterest indexes description text, the underlying phrases are just as useful pasted into a sentence as they are used as tags — copy either the tag list or the plain phrases.
- 1Enter the topic, niche or product your post is about.
- 2Choose how many hashtags you want and whether to use camelCase or lowercase.
- 3Generate, then review each tag and delete anything that does not describe your post.
- 4Copy the set as a block or download it for reuse.
Example
Input
small kitchen storage ideas
Output
#smallKitchenStorageIdeas #kitchenStorage #storageIdeas #pinIdeas #moodboard
When to use it
- Writing pin descriptions that contain the phrases searchers actually type.
- Tagging a board of related pins consistently.
- Building a keyword vocabulary for a seasonal campaign.
- Preparing descriptions in bulk before scheduling pins.
Tips
- Write one natural sentence containing your main phrase before adding any tags.
- Use Pinterest's search autocomplete to sanity-check the phrases you generate here.
- Keep descriptions readable — a wall of tags is worse than a clear sentence.
Limitations
Hashly has no Pinterest data, so it cannot show search volume, trending queries or how competitive a term is inside Pinterest. Pinterest's own search bar autocomplete is a better source for live phrasing.
Frequently asked questions
- Do hashtags matter on Pinterest?
- Less than descriptive text. Pinterest indexes the whole description, so plain keyword phrases in a natural sentence usually do more than a tag block.
- How many tags should a pin have?
- A few at most. Prioritise a clear description; add two or three tags if they genuinely categorise the pin.
- Can this tool see Pinterest trends?
- No. It generates phrases from your topic locally. Pinterest Trends and search autocomplete are the places to check live interest.
