About this tool

Where hashtags sit visually changes how a caption reads. A single trailing line keeps things compact; one tag per line pushes the block below the fold so the caption's first sentence gets the attention. This formatter switches between both layouts instantly and can add the small dot spacer many creators use to separate copy from tags.

How it works

The tool matches every hashtag in your input with a unicode-aware pattern, which means it accepts a messy block, a column, or a caption with tags mixed in. In one-per-line mode the tags are joined with line breaks and optionally preceded by three dots on their own lines. In block mode they are joined with single spaces. Tag text is never altered — only the whitespace between tags changes.

  1. 1Paste your hashtags in whichever layout you currently have.
  2. 2Choose the direction of conversion.
  3. 3Tick the spacer option if you want the tags pushed below the caption fold.
  4. 4Copy the formatted text straight into your post.

Example

Input

#one #two #three

Output

#one\n#two\n#three

When to use it

  • Pushing a tag block below the more-button on Instagram.
  • Collapsing a column of tags into one line for a comment.
  • Preparing a readable tag list for a client to review.
  • Standardising layout across a scheduled batch of posts.

Tips

  • Clean the set first, then format; fixing tags after formatting is fiddlier.
  • Spacer dots work on Instagram captions; they look odd on LinkedIn.
  • Keep one canonical single-line version stored, and format on the way out.

Limitations

This is a whitespace operation, nothing more. It does not validate, deduplicate or count tags, and the spacer dots are a visual convention rather than a platform feature — some apps collapse consecutive blank characters differently.

Frequently asked questions

Do the spacer dots affect reach?
No. They are ordinary characters that push content below the caption fold. They have no effect on how a platform indexes the post.
Will it remove duplicates?
No. Formatting is deliberately non-destructive. Use the Hashtag Cleaner or Duplicate Checker for that.
Can it handle a caption with text mixed in?
Yes. Only hashtags are extracted and reformatted; surrounding words are dropped from the output.
