About this tool

When you build a hashtag set by merging several sources, repeats are almost guaranteed — and on a platform with a hard tag limit, every repeat is a slot thrown away. This checker finds them immediately, tells you how many times each tag appears, and gives you the de-duplicated block ready to paste.

How it works

Tags are matched with a unicode-aware pattern and grouped by a normalised key. By default the key is lowercased, because platforms do not distinguish #Coffee from #coffee, so both count as the same tag. The first spelling encountered is kept as the display form. Any tag appearing more than once is listed with its count, and the unique set is returned both as a list and as a single pasteable line.

  1. 1Paste the hashtag set you are about to publish.
  2. 2Leave case sensitivity off unless you specifically need it.
  3. 3Generate to see which tags repeat and how often.
  4. 4Copy the clean single-line block from the results.

Example

Input

#coffee #Coffee #espresso #coffee

Output

#coffee — 3 times · clean set: #coffee #espresso

When to use it

  • Final check before pasting a thirty-tag Instagram block.
  • Merging tag sets from several campaigns without waste.
  • Auditing a scheduling tool's saved tag groups.
  • Cleaning a set assembled by more than one person.

Tips

  • Keep case sensitivity off; it matches platform behaviour and finds more real duplicates.
  • Replace each removed duplicate with a genuinely different, relevant tag.
  • Store your cleaned sets somewhere central so the same merge problem does not recur.

Limitations

Only exact textual repeats are detected. Two tags that mean the same thing in different words, or singular versus plural forms, are separate tags here and on the platform too. No popularity or safety check is performed.

Frequently asked questions

Does capitalisation create a different hashtag?
No. Platforms treat #Coffee and #coffee as the same tag, which is why case-insensitive comparison is the default here.
Will duplicates stop my post publishing?
No, but they count towards platform limits, so they can push you over the maximum with no benefit.
Can I keep the original capitalisation?
Yes. The unique list preserves the first spelling of each tag exactly as you wrote it.
