About this tool

Moving a keyword list between tools usually means reformatting it, and reformatting by hand is where mistakes get introduced. This converter produces properly escaped output in the four formats that cover almost every destination: a JSON array for developers and APIs, a quoted CSV for spreadsheets, one-per-line for bulk paste fields, and a comma string for tag inputs.

How it works

The input is split on line breaks, commas, semicolons and pipes so it accepts whatever you have. For JSON the items are serialised into a pretty-printed array, which handles quotes, commas and unicode automatically. For CSV each value is wrapped in double quotes and any internal quote is doubled, following the standard escaping rule, with a header row you can name. Line and comma output are straightforward joins.

  1. 1Paste the keyword list in any common format.
  2. 2Choose the output format you need.
  3. 3Set the CSV column name if you are exporting to a spreadsheet.
  4. 4Generate, then copy the text or download the file.

Example

Input

running shoes, cycling shoes

Output

["running shoes", "cycling shoes"]

When to use it

  • Handing a keyword list to a developer as a JSON array.
  • Producing a spreadsheet-safe CSV with correctly quoted values.
  • Preparing a comma string for a CMS tag field.
  • Normalising a mixed-format list into clean one-per-line text.

Tips

  • Use JSON when values contain punctuation — it is the safest round-trip format.
  • Name the CSV column something your import screen recognises to save a mapping step.
  • Download rather than copy for very long lists; clipboard limits can truncate.

Limitations

The converter treats every item as a plain string in a single column, so it cannot build multi-column CSVs or nested JSON objects. Items containing commas will be split on input, which is a limitation of accepting mixed separators.

Frequently asked questions

Is the CSV output Excel-safe?
Yes. Values are quoted and internal quotes are doubled, which is the standard CSV escaping that Excel, Numbers and Google Sheets all read correctly.
Can I produce multiple columns?
Not with this tool — it exports a single keyword column. Build extra columns in your spreadsheet after importing.
Does JSON output preserve order?
Yes. The array keeps your input order exactly, including duplicates unless you cleaned them first.
